It can be fun and enlightening to patrol or trailhead host with another Volunteer Wilderness Ranger. But sometimes it can be challenging to find someone who wants to volunteer when and where you do. Never fear, ESWA is here to help. Check out these new ways we’ve developed to find partners:
Private Facebook Page. Our private Facebook page lets you post your interest in finding a partner and respond to others who are looking. Check it out here.
Online Sign Up System. We have added a “Looking for a Buddy?” column on the normal Sign-In page where you sign up for a patrol or trailhead hosting session. You can indicate you are looking for a partner at the same time you sign up, and check out if anyone else is.
VWR List. In early June we will put together and email to all VWRs a list of all other VWRs with their names, towns (but not street addresses), and email addresses (but not phone numbers). Find out which VWRs are in your area, and reach out to see if they’d be interested in doing a patrol or hosting session. If you prefer not to be included on this list, email Mike Browning by May 31 to let him know.
Monthly Socials. Attend one of our monthly get-togethers in Summit and/or Eagle Counties. The dates and locations of upcoming socials will be listed in our e-newsletter each month. So come out, mingle, and find a patrol buddy.
