In ESWA's first letter-writing campaign through Action Network over 170 letters have been sent. An email was sent out in October asking ESWA members to reach out to their representatives to let them know that drilling permanent climbing bolts in congressionally protected Wilderness Areas constitutes a permanent installation prohibited under the 1964 Wilderness Act, and that legalizing this practice would provide a slippery slope towards future incursions that would degrade Wilderness. ESWA plans to continue working with Action Network on future campaigns. In the meantime, we welcome your feedback – email Krista Hughes.
