About the event
The trail at Lower Cataract Lake does not permit horses, so at the beginning of the trail a chicane forms a narrow zig-zag that prevents horse access. We will be rebuilding this chicane. We will be digging holes and installing posts as well as horizontal rails. We will need to carry the lumber about 300 yards from the trucks to the project site. We may also replace a wilderness portal signpost that is right next to the chicane.
Activities include digging, tamping, rock collecting, lumber hauling. Depending on how many volunteers we get, we could have some people go on a brushing run around the lake. The hike to the chicane is only 300 yard, but the hike around the lake is a little over two miles
