About the event
ESWA will perform corridor and tread work on the "Willow Creek Loop" from the Willowbrook Trailhead in Silverthorne. We will be doing various tasks to keep the trail up to USFS Standards:
· Brushing – Cutting back vegetation to keep trails clear using loppers and handsaws.
· Water diversion – digging dips, trenches and placing water bars to move water off trails.
· Tread maintenance – clearing rocks and stones that make footing difficult.
The Willow Creek Loop starts from the Willowbrook Trailhead and consists of the route from South Willow to Mesa Cortina to the Gore Range Trail to North Willow Trail. The loop is just under 5 miles in length with 800 ft of elevation gain. Please come prepared to hike the entire loop and perform trail work along the way.
Meeting time is 8:00am at the Willowbrook Trailhead. We expect to be back at the trailhead around 4pm. Volunteers may leave earlier if needed, but will need to walk back to the trailhead on their own if leaving early.
