About the event
After a hot and dry winter with record-low snowpack, many locals in our area are rightly concerned about the wildfire risk this summer. Come out to the Bookworm on Wed May 20 @ 6pm for a discussion with our US Forest Service and Eagle River Fire Protection District! There will be a short talk about the roles both these agencies play to keep Eagle County safe, and what they believe are the most important things for you to know. We will then open it up for a Q and A session with these very knowledgeable and experienced specialists.
This event is hosted by Eagle Summit Wilderness Alliance, a local all-volunteer nonprofit that works with the US Forest Service to protect our local Wilderness areas. Information will be available on how you can make an impact by joining and/or volunteering this summer! You can also learn how to become a Volunteer Wilderness Ranger with us ( sign up for training on June 6).
