About the event
ESWA will be leading a group of volunteer Sawyers to clear deadfall on the 1/4 mile just below Salmon Lake above Silverthorne.
The Eagles Nest neighborhood is the closest location so we'll park in front of Zach's house at 279 Two Cabins Drive and then proceed up a neighborhood trail to get to Salmon Lake.
We have already cleared the trail from Willowbrook TH to the Salmon Lake junction. The first tree is 4.6 miles up the trail and the last tree is 5.0 miles up the trail so this is a 10 mile round trip hike with about 2,000 feet elevation gain. If our group is large enough, we'll send a team up to Willow lakes as well. If we do that, those people will have a 13 mile round trip hike. There are about 15 trees at Salmon Lake and about 30 trees from Salmon junction to Willow Lakes. The clearing is a relatively easy task. Most of the work will be the hike. Having said that, we need as many volunteers as possible to spread the effort and to allow us to get Willow Lakes completed if possible.

Everyone will work at their own place and we'll take plenty of time to enjoy the wilderness. Please bring lunch or snacks and be sure to bring water. ESWA will supply any necessary tools.
IMPORTANT: You must wear long pants, long sleeves, and sturdy foot ware that is good for hiking while protecting your feet. You must also have some type of eye protection (eyeglasses, sunglasses, safety glasses, etc.), and good gloves. We may have a few pair of gloves to use if you forget yours or don't have any.
