About the event
ESWA will be leading a group of volunteer Sawyers to clear brush and logs from the Lily Pad Lake Trail in Silverthorne. We will be widening the trail to about 8 feet. The Distance is 3.2 miles roundtrip with a 270 foot elevation gain. The trail has about 8 trees down and 10-15 leaning. The last Recon was done April 23rd . This is rated as an easy event.
Everyone will work at their own place and we'll take plenty of time to enjoy the wilderness. Please bring lunch or snacks and be sure to bring water. ESWA will supply any necessary tools.
Note that the parking at this trailhead may be full on a Sunday morning. It is wise to carpool if possible or take the bus. The Summit Stage Wildernest Loop bus is free of charge. One option is to park at the public parking lot near the Silverthorne transit center and park from there.
IMPORTANT: You must wear long pants, long sleeves, and sturdy foot ware that is good for hiking while protecting your feet. You must also have some type of eye protection (eyeglasses, sunglasses, safety glasses, etc.), and good gloves. We may have a few pair of gloves to use if you forget yours or don't have any.
