Total Distance: About 13 miles - Shorter option of 10 miles

Trailhead Elevation: 8,703

Highest Elevation: 11,394 - Shorter option 10,200

Elevation Gain: 2,925 (round-trip total) - Shorter option 1,500

Steepest Grade: 31% - Shorter option 26%


There are two trip leaders for this trip. The entire group will travel together on a pleasant hike to stone graves, and the more energetic group will continue to Gore Lake. Past the graves the trail becomes steeper, climbing 1,200 feet in under 2 miles. You can choose your group upon reaching the graves.


There will be a post-hike get together at an East Vail location for all who are interested.


There should be no problem parking at the trailhead for the 8:00 AM start.


Gore Lake is gorgeous, and there are often mountain goats around the shoreline.
