2026 ESWA Sawyer Certification

Please note that signing up for this course puts you on a wait list. You'll be notified by mid-May if you are selected for the course.

This course requires about 4 hours of online prework prior to the class. The class consists of a Friday in-person training at the Eagles Nest HOA Pavilion and an in-field training class in the Wilderness on Saturday.

ESWA has partnered with the US Forest Service to certify Sawyers as Class A or B Buckers who lead ESWA's teams of Sawyers to clear trails in Eagle and Summit County, Colorado. Please note that our training is highly prioritized toward individuals who we believe will contribute to ESWA and help us clear trails. Therefore, we typically prefer that someone work with us for a Summer prior to becoming certified. If we have open spaces, we may allow individuals who we have less experience with into the class. If you are interested, please sign up for the training and we'll finalize the class and notify you in April/May 2026.
